Program 13 : The Holy Family Trip

Itinerary
1st Day: Arrival.
Upon arrival at Cairo Int. airport, our Representative will meet, assist and then transfer you to hotel by our A/c bus.
Dinner and overnight in Cairo.
2nd Day: Giza Pyramids / Sakkara.
A full day guided tour to Giza Pyramids, Sphinx and the Egyptian museum.
Back to hotel and overnight.
3rd Day: Coptic Sites (lunch included).
Visit the Coptic sites that were visited by the Holy Family
in lower Egypt. Then leave Cairo for TAL BASTA to visit St. Mary's spring which started to flow when Jesus passed by, surrounded by ruins of an ancient Pharaonic temple. "Behold, the LORD is riding on a swift cloud comes to Egypt, And the idols of Egypt will tremble at his presence "(ISA 19:1)
Drive to DAKADOUS, visit St. Mary's church which was built on top of 2 Churches dated back to the 4th & 13th Centuries.
Drive to SAKHA, visit St. Mary's church. In this village the Holy child left his foot print on a rock.
Proceed to Alexandria and overnight.
4th Day: Greco - Roman Monument.
Visit some Greco – Roman monuments like Roman museum,
Catacombs of Kom el Shokafa and Roman theater.
The rest of the day is for leisure.
Overnight at hotel in Alexandria.
5th Day: Alexandria / Cairo (lunch included).
Drive back to Cairo, on the midway visit a Coptic Monastery in WADI El NATRUN.
Upon arrival to Cairo, check in the hotel for overnight.
6th Day: Places visited by HOLY FAMILY (Cairo & Beyond).
Leave to MOSTROD, where Jesus caused a water spring
to flow. Then proceed to MATARYA where the Holy Mother washed clothes of her son and from that water God Caused a fragrant plant to grow "Balsam", also St. Mary tree.
Drive to ZEITOUN, visit St. Mary's church where she appeared on April 1968.
Proceed to OLD CAIRO where the Family stayed in a cave for some time, which became a part of St. Sergius Church.
Drive down to MAADI to visit St. Mary's Monastery and church on river Nile where an open bible was found floating. This is where the Holy family started their trip to Upper Egypt by boat.
From the same point they sailed a felucca ride on the Nile to Upper Egypt. Back to hotel and overnight.
7th Day: EL Menya (lunch Box included).
Leave Cairo to EL MENYA, visit GABAL EL TAIR. Here it was said that a huge block of stone from the mountain was about to fall on the boat of the family, The Virgin got frightened but Jesus stretched his hand and prevented it from failing and lift
his palm print in it (This rock is in London museum now).
Visit St. Mary's church and Monastery (Cave church),
there is an altar in the cave where they stayed.
Proceed to EL MENYA, dinner and overnight at hotel.
8th Day: Assiout.
Leave EL MENYA to ASSIOUT with visits to BENI HASSAN'S cemetery, which is dated from the second millennium BC.
Proceed to TEL EL AMARNA, which was well known because of its association with Akhenaton, the monotheist.
Drive to Monastery of EL MUHARRAQ at QOSQAM MOUNTAIN, visit the church of the Holy virgin where the Holy family stayed for six month and some days, it is the 1st church that was established in the world. "There shall be an altar to the Lord in the land of Egypt" (ISA 19:19).
There is a rock where Jesus was sitting on, and St. Joseph was sleeping on when the angle appeared and told him to go back to Jerusalem, it was in the hut where Joseph had the dream in which the angel told him to take the holy child and his mother and return to the land of Jerusalem. "Out of Egypt I called my son" (Mat 2:15) (Hose 11:1)
Proceed to ASSIOUT, dinner and overnight at hotel.
9th Day: Monastery of Dronka (lunch included).
Drive to MONASTERY OF DRONKA at the mountain of
Assiout, there is a cave in that mountain which they stayed in
for some time and from there they started their trip back to Jerusalem.
Drive back to Cairo, check in hotel for overnight.
10th Day: Departure.
Transfer to Cairo Int. airport for home departure.
